Brad Williams
Brad Williams is a focused and respected leader with an emphasis on Government Relations and Non-profit leadership. Brad is one of the most respected voices in Lansing, and is known as a passionate advocate for pro-growth public policy and is the leading private sector advocate for issues impacting Detroit and its region.
As Vice President of Government Relations at the Detroit Regional Chamber, he leads advocacy efforts on behalf of its members and the business community. In this role, Brad is responsible for shaping the Chamber’s public policy agenda and supporting legislation that serves the interests of the business community as well as overseeing the Chamber’s political action committees. The Chamber’s aggressive advocacy program includes establishing direct contact with key policymakers at the local, state and federal government level and is consistently ranked as one of the top advocacy organizations in the state. Brad manages a three-person advocacy team out of the Chamber’s Lansing office to provide Chamber members a strong voice right at the Capitol, throughout the entire legislative process from committee hearings to bill signing. Further, Brad splits his time between Lansing and Detroit as a member of the Chamber's senior management team, helping to guide the strategic priorities of one of the largest and most respected Chambers of Commerce in the nation.
Prior to being named Vice President, he served for three years as Director of Government Relations for the Chamber with a focus on tax and appropriations issues. Williams has over fifteen years of experience in public policy serving as staff to members of the Michigan House of Representatives, the Michigan Senate and Legislative Liaison for the Michigan Department of Transportation. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Calvin College and resides in Okemos with his wife and daughter.
